Abstract. The article focuses on the philosophical interpretation of the existential representation of matter. The author analyzes the formal aspect of value attitude interpreted, following Heidegger, as the attribution from “in order to” to a certain “for that”. The paper argues for the thesis that value is a fundamental ontological characteristic of matter, which structurally always exists as a realization of value attitude and treating things. The researcher aims to clarify the meaning of the terms “matter”, “reality”, “the unconscious” and to identify their place in the ontological structure of existence formation.
