Abstract. The article sets the objectives and directions of the activity of the federal bodies of state power in the area of vocational guidance. The authors propose to consider the vocational guidance as the most important institution of integration and socialization of the young generation and the direction of social policy of the state (not only as a service); to develop Target programmes of vocational guidance, which allow coordinating the activity of all subjects of vocational guidance in the national scale; to improve existing and create new information tools of managing the process of vocational self-determination of a personality, including in the Internet space.
