Abstract. The article examines the nature of movement in cinema. It is most fully reflected by the concept of duration introduced by Henri Bergson. Movement-duration in cinema is the whole, which combines filmed reality; this is a thread, on which film shots are strung. The main task of cinema is to find this thread, to recreate the whole movement fragmented by individual plans, to “weave” time into single fabric of the narrative turning the film into real life full of truth.
