Abstract. In the article the video game “Braid” and the means of its artistic expressiveness are considered from the point of view of art criticism. The author’s attention is drawn to the category “time” in the space of the game. Time is examined as a structure independently integrated into the context of the setting, plot and game mechanics. An analysis is carried out from the point of view of game design, which allows showing how a philosophical category becomes a means of translating postmodern meanings and senses, being at the same time an instrument, an element and a direct participant of the game process.
