Abstract.
The article deals with the processes of the influence of historical knowledge on the formation of individual and collective identity in the modern era. Special attention is paid to the specifics of the functioning of historical knowledge as a complex and dynamic system, influenced by both external and internal factors. The author identifies the mechanisms and determinants of this influence, as well as its importance for assessing the impact on the search for identity in the rapidly changing and globalizing world. The paper analyzes various aspects of the mutual influence of historical consciousness and identity on social structures, institutions and values of a modern man.
