FRONTIER BROTHEL AS A PLACE TO MEET THE OUTSIDER

Abstract.
The article is devoted to analyzing the role of brothel in intercultural communication with the Outsider in the frontier space. Sexuality is one of the basic markers to identify and construct an Outsider image. Through violence and sexual domination cultural domination, including colonial one, occurs. Frontier brothels become a buffer in the clash of cultures and intercultural interaction, and control of prostitution is an element of overall colonial control over the Outsider and his culture.
