Abstract. The article is devoted to the discussion of the issues connected with the methodology of teaching descriptive geometry due to increasing intensification of the educational process. Under the conditions of high school leavers’ very low geometric-graphic preparation on the one hand and the reduction of time for the traditional forms of teaching (lectures and practical classes) on the other, a formalized approach is being created and the conceptual idea of science is not being formed. The article is intended for teachers of higher technical educational institutions working at the chairs of graphic and mathematical disciplines. At the same time it can be useful for students and young teachers, who are studying at advanced training courses.
