Yandex.Forms as a tool for conducting reading lessons in teaching Russian as a foreign language to students in a distance format (based on modern children’s literature)

Abstract.
The article is part of a study on children’s literature in the context of mass culture as material for teaching reading to students of Russian as a foreign language. The aim of the work is to substantiate the methodological potential of Yandex.Forms – a website for creating questionnaires, tests, and surveys – as a new tool for teaching reading in Russian as a foreign language. The use of this tool is necessitated by the close connection between mass literature (including children’s literature) and modern technologies and mass communications. The article examines the features of Yandex.Forms as a tool for organizing reading lessons, proposes methodological developments using Yandex.Forms, and analyzes the experience of their application in teaching. The scientific novelty of the research is presented through the hypothesis about the expediency and convenience of Yandex.Forms for organizing reading instruction and the identification of the main characteristics of this tool, as well as the formation of a model for a reading lesson using Yandex.Forms and the preparation of relevant methodological developments. The basis for the developments is the form of a reading lesson scenario proposed by N. V. Kulibina, but previously unused texts of modern children’s literature have been selected as material. Changes made in comparison to an in-person reading lesson scenario are analyzed, as well as other differences related to the use of this tool – its structure, technical capabilities, and the distance format of conducting the lesson. The result of the research is methodological developments using Yandex.Forms based on texts of classic (D. I. Kharms’ poem “Amazing Cat”) and modern children’s literature (the stories “Snow Maiden” by A. D. Dorofeev, “The Star and the Beard” by A. P. Malysheva, and “Equality/Identity” by M. S. Agapina), as well as an analysis of the tool’s features and its methodological potential, particularly in aspects such as collecting and analyzing student responses, evaluating the effectiveness of the reading lesson scenarios themselves, teacher reflection, and ensuring optimal correction of shortcomings when necessary.
