Export of educational programs and practices in Russian language teaching in preschool and secondary educational institutions of Laos

Abstract. The aim of this study is to identify innovative educational practices that contribute to the integration of the Russian language into the Laotian education system. According to the authors, this will promote the dissemination of the Russian language in Laos and strengthen Russia’s position in the region. The article analyzes the current state and identifies key problems in teaching Russian as a foreign language within Laos’ general education system, using the example of schools in the capital. The scientific novelty is that specific organizational and methodological problems previously not described in the scientific literature have been identified for the first time; and approaches for integrating the Russian language into Laos’ educational landscape have been defined and substantiated: the inclusion of Russian in preschool education through educational practices new to the Laotian system, the implementation of content and language integrated learning (CLIL) in primary school, and the creation of a Russian language environment extending beyond classroom activities. As a result of the study, statistical and scientific-methodological data on the matter were analyzed; problems in organizing the current process of teaching Russian as a foreign language in Laos’ general education system were identified and described; recommendations for integrating the Russian language into Laos’ educational landscape were developed; and a list of tasks that need to be addressed for the effective export of educational programs and practices in Russian language teaching in Laos was defined.
