RUSSIAN CULTURE REALIA REFLECTION IN FRENCH TRANSLATION (BY MATERIAL OF A. I. SOLZHENITSYN’S STORY “MATRYONA’S PLACE” AND ITS TRANSLATION INTO FRENCH)

Abstract. The author considers the problems associated with the translation of the realia relating to the sphere of religious holidays, associative and onomastic realia, pays special attention to the question, how the translated text of a work of fiction can serve as an objective source of information about other culture, and comes to the conclusion that the attempts to preserve the national identity of the original result in the formation of semantic violations caused by the influence of translating culture.
