Abstract. The article considers the features of teaching to write in a foreign language as one of the types of speech activity. Particular attention is paid to the distinctive features between written speech and oral speech. Several stages in teaching to write in a foreign language are revealed. Modern technical equipment is necessary to optimize the process of teaching to write.
