ON RECURSIVE METHOD IN EAST GERMANY SUBSTRATE TOPONYMY STUDY

Abstract.
In the article the Slavic substrate toponymy within the territory of East Germany is considered basing on the materials collected after Ernst Eichler’s famous works of the second half of the XX thcentury. The article especially focuses on the recursive method of research. The author describes three types of recursion in detail. Some word-formative particularities of the Old Sorbian toponyms are characterized on the basis of the analysis of the revealed facts of the Slavic substrate toponymy.
