Abstract. The article considers the problem of social-cultural education of schoolchildren. Specialized education orients students to professional activity. Mastering a foreign language and its culture, students need to know that the representatives of various cultures perceive the world differently. That is why it is necessary to form at the school stage the students’ skills that will help them match specific language means with the situations and norms of speakers’ verbal behaviour.
