LANGUAGE GAME AS STYLISTIC MEANS IN THE MODERN FRENCH LITERATURE

Abstract.
Language game is considered in the article as one of the ways of assessment or described heroes’ characteristic strengthening, of reflecting the narrator’s attitude to them. It is shown that stylistic means realize certain authorial ideas portrayed either in the author’s or in the speech of the work main hero and present the linguistic personality’s socio- and psycho-linguistic peculiarities. When the hero of the work experiments with different language levels, his/her speech receives aesthetic load, from the most sophisticated to unpretentious one. It may be pun, parody, more or less good joke, simple jest or different types of tropes.
