Abstract. The article is dedicated to the analysis of difficulties arising with the students of non-linguistic higher school in the process of producing profession-oriented written statements in foreign language. The special attention is paid to the investigation of reasons for origin of such difficulties. The author considers the problem of assessment criteria of profession-oriented written communication.
