LINGUISTIC REPRESENTATION OF PROPER NOUNS WHILE TRANSLATING (BY THE EXAMPLE OF L. CARROLL'S FAIRY TALE "ALICE IN WONDERLAND")

Abstract.
In the article the author considers the creative method of L. Carroll by the example of anthroponyms which can be referred to the special group of associative realia, namely allusive proper nouns and the methods of their translation into the Russian language by the representatives of different literary schools. The main methods of proper nouns translation are transcription, transliteration and semantic translation. The conclusions about advantages and disadvantages of the examined approaches to this translation problem solution are drawn. The results can be useful while translating similar texts and in teaching artistic translation to the students of language and literature departments.
