DOMESTIC LEXICOGRAPHICAL SOURCES OF THE GERMAN-RUSSIAN DICTIONARY OF 1834-1835

Abstract. The goal of the article is to identify the domestic bilingual dictionaries used during the creation of the German-Russian dictionary of the Society of lovers of both languages (1834-1835). The paper focuses on the two German-Russian dictionaries of 1795 and 1798 as the potential lexicographical sources of the dictionary of the Society. The author identifies and analyzes the common structural and typological features and the borrowings of the dictionary of the Society from the German-Russian dictionaries of 1795 and 1798 allowing concluding about their “status” as the sources of the dictionary of the Society. The researcher also analyzes the authors’ original contribution during preparation of the dictionary.
