OCCASIONAL PHRASEOLOGICAL UNIT AND ITS PLACE IN THE ENGLISH LITERARY TEXT

Abstract. The article examines occasional phraseological unit as a special unit created by the author for the needs of context and promoting accentuation of the key meanings of a text. The researcher aims to analyze the process of origin of an occasional phraseological unit and to reveal the specifics of its functioning in a literary text. She comes to the conclusion that the presence of an occasional phraseological unit in the text and its nature depend both on the artistic conception of an author and on the peculiarities of his personality.
