Abstract.
In the article based on the comparative analysis of several variants of the translation of A. S. Pushkin’s poem “Winter evening” into the Ossetian language with the original the author reveals the more suitable variant. The author examines the transfer of the formal and content sides of Pushkin’s poem in translations. As a part of the study the means of achieving adequacy of artistic and esthetic impact as one of the most significant criterion of evaluation of poetic translation are established.
