Abstract.
In the article devoted to the mythopoetics of Z. Prilepin’s works the artistic peculiarities of his novels “Black Ape” and “The Pathologies” in terms of the use of mythological plots and images in them are considered. The philosophical component of the author's reflections on the nature and essence of human cruelty, on the reasons of the society degradation at the spiritual level and on the factors that allow not only the existence of negative phenomena, but also their development with incredible speed is analyzed.
