THE RESEARCH OF TRANSLATION HARMONY IN AXIOLOGICAL PARADIGM

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the description of harmony as a linguistic and translation category being an additional axiological dominant of translation along with adequacy and equivalence. Choosing harmony as the highest criterion in the interpretation quality assessment allows studying the translation process within the framework of axiological linguistics which focuses on the asymmetric actualization of value orientations of the representatives of interacting linguocultures in the text. The fairytale “Buzzy-Wuzzy Busy Fly” by K. I. Chukovsky and its translations into French and German is taken as an illustrative material for the theoretical background.
