Abstract.
The article is devoted to the study of the novel “The House in Passy” by B. K. Zaitsev. This paper considers the novel from the point of view of the presence in it of such a phenomenon as the “Paris text” of the Russian emigration first wave. The research using the semiotic square, which is created on the oppositions, undertakes an attempt to decrypt the meaning of the novel, its deep content, and to see how the nature and fate of the characters are revealed through the use of the text about the town.
