Abstract. The article attempts to analyze the issue of transition of a number of connectors-prepositions into the category of connectors-conjunctions, and also the issue of revealing the peculiarities of the space and time conceptualization and possibilities of their crossing such language units as connectors in semantics. The author thinks that grammaticalization, having affected the group of connectors-prepositions in a certain period of the historical development of the language, has been the cause of their transition into the category of connectors-conjunctions.
