THE METAPHORIC MEANING OF THE LEXEME “DRUM” IN THE MASS MEDIA DISCOURSE

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the topical issue of mataphorization of mass media language at the moment. Special attention is paid to the semantic field “music”, which is one of the dominant areas-resources in mass media discourse. The goal of the article is to analyze a metaphoric use of the lexeme “drum” in the articles of English newspapers. The main content of the examination consists of the consideration of metaphoric models and revealing motivating semes of metaphorical transfers.
