Abstract.
The problem of semantic equivalence of the words is one of the most relevant problems of modern linguistics which is explained by the specifics of a research object itself, involving the complicated interaction of identity and difference, meaning and usage, conceptual and properly semantic plans of a lexical unit. The article examines the structural-semantic peculiarities of the verbs of the middle stage of an action, identifies the factors determining the preference in the choice of a certain predicative unit.
