SOME PECULIARITIES OF THE PREFIXAL WORD FORMATION IN THE MODERN FRENCH LANGUAGE

Abstract.
The article aims at identifying the prefixes with high productivity in the modern French language. The research is based on the analysis of the neologisms presented in explanatory dictionaries, authentic press and Internet publications during the period of 2008-2015. The relevance of the study is conditioned by the active use of new prefix formations in the modern French language. The obtained data allow ascertaining the prefixes hyper-, multi-, ultra- with high derivational activity. The conducted analysis proves that prefixion is still one of the most productive ways of word formation in the modern French language.
