Abstract.
The article conducts a historical parallel between the period of the XI-XVI centuries and present days in the sphere of the development of colour naming. Special attention is paid to the analysis and comparison of the historical spiral of the development of colour naming by the example of separately taken languages. The topicality of the work is in the support while studying linguistic peculiarities of different languages by means of simplification and systematization of the expansive amount of thematic information.
