Abstract.
The article aims to examine the problem of unambiguity and termhood level of the components of the conceptual sphere “ultrasonic examination of metal products” in the English and Russian languages. Solving this problem is possible due to the inclusion of the linguistic unit into the context. Only surrounded by the similar names and on the basis of the associative relations the linguistic unit becomes a full-value functional unit.
