THE CATEGORY OF COHESION IN THE ENGLISH SCIENTIFIC AND PEDAGOGICAL PUBLICISTICS

Abstract. The article describes the category of cohesion in the English scientific and pedagogical publicistics. By the example of the scientific and pedagogical publicistics the author identifies the text-formative role of the category under study. The paper examines linguistic means securing the text cohesion. According to the author, the choice of the linguistic means of cohesion is determined by the specifics of style. The scientific and pedagogical publicistics is characterized by the use of functional and syntactical means of cohesion.
