RETRANSLATING IN THE SYSTEM OF TRANSLATION DISCOURSE

Abstract.
The article substantiates the necessity of studying the phenomenon of retranslating, or repetitive translation, as an integral element of contemporary translation discourse. The problem is widely discussed in the researches of West European scientists by contrast with domestic linguistic works where it is paid little attention to. The research subject is a process of retranslating interpreted by the authors as a function of translation chronotopos that is in harmony with the conception of translation space. The research purpose is to reveal the functions of retranslation, to analyze its mission, place and role in the system of translation discourse. The authors make the following conclusion: from hermeneutics positions retranslation is determined historically and it demands its consistent and systematic study.
