PROSODIC VARIABILITY OF GERMAN FOOTBALL COMMENTATORS’ SPEECH

Abstract.
The article provides the comprehensive analysis of the prosodic variability of the German football commentary. Special attention is paid to situational variability and the results of the electro-acoustic analysis. Relying on the three-stage analysis of the commentators’ speech prosody the author identified neutral and marked realizations, calculated average values for the basic prosodic characteristics.
