Abstract.
The article examines the author’s transformations of the phraseological units calqued from Russian into Tatar in a literary text, in particular, the technique to replace the component/components. The paper analyzes lexical transformations and their influence on the meaning of the phraseological calques under analysis. The researcher emphasizes the fact that author’s transformations promote the language system development, attract the readers’ attention with their unusual form and show the language potential.
