Abstract.
The article deals with the function of learning foreign languages in the era of modern globalization where cross-cultural communication plays an important role. The author grounds the necessity to include toponyms in the foreign language teaching, since toponyms are an inseparable part of the vocabulary of any natural language, its worldview and serve as an indicator of the cultural originality.
