Abstract. The article presents the results of studying the identity of children - bi- and multilinguals, living in Spain. The process of formation of language identity is analyzed and the main stages of its formation are determined. The boundaries of language identity are indicated. The inclination of children-bilinguals for the Russian and Spanish languages is determined. Conclusions are supported by the data of the questionnaire. The authors believe that the main goal of teaching the language in conditions of limited language environment is the process of forming images of linguistic consciousness.
