Abstract.
The article studies the linguo-stylistic features of seven translations of A. S. Pushkin’s poem “Winter Morning” into French made at different times. A comparative-contrastive analysis of the original and its French translations is carried out on the basis of the following criteria: conformity with the poetic form, rendering semantic, syntactic, stylistic nuances and sound originality. Studying different translations allows us to trace how approaches to translating a poetic text have changed over time (from free translation of the poem to unrhymed prose translations, and then to attempts to convey the intonation-melodic and sound originality of the original), and also to determine the most successful techniques of poetic translation.
