Abstract.
The article analyses representation of the FREUNDSCHAFT/АMITIÉ (FRIENDSHIP) concept in the German and French paroemiological units. The authors identify the most frequent thematic representatives of the FREUNDSCHAFT/АMITIÉ concept in the analysed linguo-cultures. Scientific originality of the paper lies in the fact that the researchers for the first time consider the FREUNDSCHAFT/АMITIÉ concept verbalization in the German and French paroemias. The conducted research allows identifying meaningful thematic representatives of the FREUNDSCHAFT/АMITIÉ concept - truth, confidence, kinship, business, love, anti-friendship, spiritual wealth, gain, which acquire both positive and negative connotations in both the linguo-cultures.
