Abstract.
The paper considers the possibility of expanding the spectrum of studying sign representatives of culture in the paremiological worldview. The aim of the work is to determine the features of encoding cultural meanings through verbal components that have an axiological and epistemological significance. This code is widely used in the paremiological worldview and has special contextual decoding mechanisms. The analysis shows that verbs associated with actions in different types of crafts, with simple actions (movements, contemplation, thinking) are more frequent in paroemias, evaluative words are also found. It is noted that verbs, acting as a code, project processes familiar to everyone, but do not have a direct denotative or significative connection with their semantics. The research is novel in that it is the first to interpret the procedural code as an axiological element of ethno-mental essence. As a result of the research, the most important semantic fields within which action codes are applied have been identified. It has been proved that the procedural code is an integral part of the semiotic system and the cognitive representation of the people.
