Crimean Tatar medical terminology: history of formation, study, and connection with the dialectal structure of the language

Abstract. The proposed study presents the results of a scientific description of Crimean Tatar medical terminology and its history of formation. The aim of the research is to establish the main patterns in the formation of Crimean Tatar medical terminology and its connection to the dialectal base of the language. The article examines the history and current state of medical terminology, the methods of forming anatomical and clinical terms in the Crimean Tatar language, and their relationship to colloquial and dialectal forms. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the comprehensive description and analysis of dictionaries and publications on the topic under consideration, establishing their connection with pre-war publications, and identifying the relationship of Crimean Tatar medical terms to international medical terminology, the Arab-Persian naming tradition, and the national dialectal system of the Crimean Tatar language. The study reveals close links between Crimean Tatar medical terminology and the common Turkic terminological system, the presence of Arabic vocabulary within it, and the use of Greco-Latin term elements and their compatibility with Turkic (Crimean Tatar) components.
