Abstract.
The aim of the research is to find an answer to the following question: how does the narrative-artistic structure of Jonathan Franzen's novel “The Corrections” (2001) reflect the transformation of social and individual subjectivity in the context of a post-capitalist environment? The article analyzes the economic, geopolitical, and cultural conditions that shaped the author and his work, including the influence of globalization, transnational capitalism, and changes in family and social dynamics. It determines how these factors are reflected in the narrative-artistic structure of the novel, and identifies Franzen's characteristic ways of overcoming the identity crisis in the post-capitalist era. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that, in the course of studying “The Corrections”, the key role of the interaction between the narrative-artistic structure and post-capitalist realities in shaping the subjectivity of the novel's characters has been proven. The following results were obtained: the narrative-artistic structure of “The Corrections”, integrating elements of social and psychological analysis, allows not only to capture changes in society at the turn of the 20th-21st centuries, but also to create a multifaceted artistic critique of the post-capitalist system.
