Hypo-hypernymic correlations between terms in the subject field MANAGEMENT (based on English-language term units of strategic and financial management)

Abstract.
The aim of the study is to identify the specific features of hypo-hypernymic correlations between the terms of the subject field MANAGEMENT in contemporary English as a reflection of the peculiarities of the conceptual organization of this subject field. The material for the study consists of English-language term units in the fields of strategic and financial management. The article examines the specifics of constructing hypo-hypernymic relations between terms and the fixed/unfixed nature of these relations. The scientific novelty of the research lies in identifying the specifics of regular and occasional hypo-hypernymic relations between the term units of the subject field MANAGEMENT based on English language data, in particular between hypernyms and co-hyponyms. As a result of the conducted research, it was established that conceptual hypo-hypernymic correlations in the subject field MANAGEMENT are not fixed once and for all, but are characterized by a certain dynamism and mobility. Hypo-hypernymic relations can be established between terms and the concepts they represent on a one-time basis, i.e. contextually and occasionally. They can also be established between terminological units regularly and fixed in paradigmatics, which is frequently marked by the commonality of term components either only in co-hyponyms, or in the hypernym and its co-hyponyms. Hypo-hypernymic relations of this kind can form the basis for constructing terminological definitions.
