Abstract.
The article considers fractality as a way of objectification of postmodern artistic creativity. The object of the research is the linguistic specificity of the lyrical texts of modern British poets. The subject of the research is a new type of author’s concept – an artistic-fractal concept. The artistic-fractal concept of CHAOS is defined on the basis of the lexical-semantic and grammatical analysis of poetic texts. It is established that this type of concept is characterized by discreteness and is implemented through a unique author’s language, due to which new meanings are formed. The purpose of the study is to identify the linguistic specifics of the expression of an artistic-fractal concept as a result of linguistic cognition by postmodern authors. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that a new type of author’s concept is defined – an artistic-fractal concept, its structure is modeled and the ways of linguistic expression are determined. The results showed that the structure of the fractal-artistic concept includes three cognithemes: world history, nature and creativity. There are three main ways to implement a concept of this type in the lyrical texts of British postmodernism: a repeating pattern of lines of different sizes; a “snowball” (the end of the preceding line becomes the beginning of the next one) and a “ladder” (a gradual displacement of lines). Unique linguistic means of expressing each cognitheme have been identified, including linguistic rebus, alogism, paradox, double encoding, addressing the reader, grammatical parallelism, lexical repetition, allusion, extended metaphor, stream of consciousness and natural realities.
