Abstract. The review is devoted to the analysis of a book of articles on Russian literature by V. B. Kataev, a well-known scholar of Chekhov studies, Doctor of Philology, Honored Professor at the Faculty of Philology at Lomonosov Moscow State University, and Chairman of the Chekhov Commission of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences for the History of World Culture. All the articles were based on presentations made by the scholar at scientific conferences at Lomonosov Moscow State University and academic institutions, and they were written recently, reflecting the common theme of cultural memory.
