ASSESSMENT OF ELECTRIC ENERGY LOSSES IN ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS OF SINUSOIDAL CURRENT IN TRANSIENT PROCESSES

Abstract. The article discusses the problem of determining electric energy losses in linear electrical circuits in transient processes. Transient processes in electrical circuits occur under the influence of various disturbances. The most dangerous processes in electrical circuits are short circuits, which can lead to the large losses of electric energy and destructive consequences. On the basis of theoretical studies the author obtains the assessment of electric energy losses in relation to transient processes of various nature: aperiodic and oscillatory ones. Using the possibilities of the extension of MATLAB package, Simulink , the author simulates short circuit on bars of synchronous generator operating for 525 kV transmission line. The simulation results confirm the possibility of using the proposed methodology for the assessment of electric energy losses in transient processes.
