Strel'nikova Larisa Yur'evna
Kuban State University

Abstract. The article analyzes a game conception "Homo Ludens" developed by the Dutch philosopher J. Huizinga in 1938. J. Huizinga proves that the foundation of culture has been laid in game starting with the primitive era up to the present day. According to the philosopher, all cultural creativity is a derivative from game. The study concludes that game has acquired a total character in contemporary art, through it the artist creates a special view of reality based on the game of imagination, and the category of creative unconsciousness is brought to the forefront.
