OPTICAL PHONONS OF NEURON MODEL MEMBRANE

Abstract. The paper considers dynamics of the neuron model membrane formed of the structured bilayer of lipid molecules that can exist in two conformational states. The presented lattice oscillations are determined by rotational movement of the polar part of the molecules. It is shown that out of the set of the phonon states only modes with the wave vector equal to zero can exist in the spherical membrane.
