INFLUENCE OF SPACES BETWEEN WELLS AND RATES OF DRAINAGE ON THE FORM AND SIZE OF ZONES OF STAGNATION WITH THE LOWERED PRESSURE GRADIENT

Abstract. The paper examines impact of spaces between wells and rates of drainage on the form and size of zones of stagnation in development of the well system. Knowing the location and size of stagnation zones it is possible to drill production wells and get additional production, that is not of only theoretical but also of practical interest. The conducted calculations and obtained results show that in oil reservoirs, compacting the well network, it is possible to reduce the area of "stagnant" zones significantly and thereby to involve areas of deposits not covered by water flooding in development more rapidly.
