Abstract. The article reveals the mechanism of the interaction of state and person prosecuted according to religious motives on the basis of archival materials and contemporaries' memoirs. The process of a personality's formation during the soviet period and the manifestation of nun Raisa's service to the neighbor and fatherland till sentence completion in Karaganda camp (1942) are analyzed with the help of a narrative method.
