Abstract. The author studies the radical movement locofoco in the USA, its origin, composition, program guidelines and the initial period of political activity, and concludes that the Democratic Party split in 1835, the radical group separation and the independent regional movement formation were conditioned by the intensification of the struggle for financial-banking issue within the country in the context of the second American two-party system formation.
