NOBILITY AND OFFICIALS BEFORE AND DURING REFORMS OF THE 60-70S OF THE XIXTH CENTURY: PROBLEMS OF RELATIONSHIPS

Abstract. The author considers various aspects of relationships between nobility as the upper class of the Russian Empire and officials during the preparation of peasant reform and post-reform period, analyzes their position in the Russian society social structure in the middle of the XIXth century, their place in the political system of autocracy, the features of bureaucracy perception by landed gentry, discusses the problem of service nobility self-identification, and besides presents major viewpoints on the origins, dynamics, features of relationships between nobility and officials, and the prospects for their development, which existed in the social thought of that era.
