SOUL AND BODY CORRELATION PROBLEM ACCORDING TO ARISTOTLE AND DESCARTES: COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

Abstract. The author considers the features of Aristotle and Descartes's approaches to soul and body correlation taking into account the historical period of their life activity, reveals the worldview peculiarities of Descartes who studied this problem in terms of dualism, within the framework of psychophysical problem; and shows that according to Aristotle the main difficulty in the question of soul is the determination of its categorical identity.
